Membership

How can I join RadStorm as a member?

Are you looking for a place to jam or record at 3 A.M? Like hosting shows? Want to screen print merch for your band? Interested in making pottery? Need a space for fundraising? Or… Are you just interested in chilling like a villain and reading rare ZINES?

RadStorm depends on our community of members and volunteers, so we always look for new members to join! We offer opportunities for cooperative learning and experimentation that we hope advance the local arts and social communities we exist within.

You can become a part of many different collectives! We also have general memberships that do not have to be affiliated with the collectives we house. We would love for you to find space to get involved as you see fit, shaping an experience that is right for you.

Membership Process

  1. Most of our communication happens on our Discord app server. This is where our volunteers will be able to assist you. Please send us a message briefly introducing yourself and your interests. (link to discord app server coming soon; for now, e-mail us at radstormhalifax[@]gmail.com).
  1. Attend an orientation to get acquainted with our space and collectives. This involves an older member walking you through the “Do and Don’ts” of our space and workshops to learn new skills to use equipment. You must complete orientations and workshops for different collectives to access different areas and resources within our community. (E.g. completing orientation for jamming is not enough to host shows).
  1. Use the space 24/7. Pay as you go. Access to equipment depends on which collective you have attended the orientation for, so you may need to attend additional orientations by other collectives of Radstorm to learn how to use equipment or host a live event.

Do I have to pay? Not necessarily. It’s free to join. Radstorm operates with a sliding scale or Pay What You Can policy to ensure anyone can access the resources despite financial barriers. No one turned away for lack of funds.

You only pay for the resources you use or orientations that require skills workshops. Below are only the suggested prices for our current collectives’ use of space and equipment. (If you volunteer, you get discounted prices and free hours to use the space.)
